Inhabitants and visitors will find a rich cultural experience here in the town of Vsetín; from fine arts, theatre and music to traditional Vallachian folk art. Two traditional folk groups operate here, Vsacan  and Jasénka, as well as many choirs. Several amateur theatre groups perform at the Community Centre (Lidový Dům) and the Kohútek puppet theatre has its home at Vsetín’s Cultural Centre (Dům Kultury).

But non-profit organizations are not the only groups taking care of the rich cultural program, the town hall does its fair share as well. The town hall not only takes care of exhibitions of regional and world-famous artists at the Gallery Stará Radnice and town hall exhibition room, but also the Vsetínský Krpec International Folklore Festival, the Interfotoklub Vsetín international photography competition, the popular Josef Audes Jazz Festival and the cultural and social event called Valašské Záření (“Vallachian Splendour”).    

The young can have a good time here in Vsetín too. And this is thanks to the local clubs and bands. Holders of the Academy of Popular Music award, members of the duo Žamboši, also live and hold concerts in Vsetín.  A local company, The Cultural Centre (Dům kultury Vsetín s.r.o.), takes care of commercial culture in Vsetín.
